Eligible Settlements & Criteria
The Kin’s Domain Settlement Directory was created to list established* Settlements only. There are many reasons for this, which will be explained. Please do not submit any listings for prospective settlements — they will be deleted.
For directories, data integrity is paramount. We want to ensure up-to-date, useful, high quality data for all users. If we were to allow prospective settlement listings, there is a tendency on directory websites for them to become filled with multiple times more prospective settlements than actual, established settlements.
What's more, is that many of these prospective settlements never actually materialize — thus clogging the directory with old and irrelevant data. This brings down the overall quality and usefulness of the directory, eventually to the point where no one regards it as useful or relevant.
We want to ensure that our data remains fresh, that the platform remains useful, and fulfills the intended purpose of connecting people with real Settlements around the world. Far too much work has gone into the creation of this platform for us to allow it to be anything but the absolute most useful tool for everyone.
